Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actress as well as a television host. She's most famous as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz from a young age. She played lead roles in television dramas as early when she was just 16. Her highly acclaimed performance on the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this model. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of important international and national productions. The most notable of these include British biographical Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French documentary about the history of Napoleon in addition to other projects. She also remained member of juries at Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
